Like I mentioned, I agree with her decision. I have to state now that I refused to sign any petition for her to finished the book. Because 1) it’s her choice whether she writes it or not and she didn’t even have to write this in the first place. 2) it’s a waste of time. Really, if you think about it, if she’s really this upset about it being leaked; do you think making her feel guilty will make her feel any better? Even if she did put it on hold, she did post the first twelve chapters online, so maybe everyone should suck it up and get over it.

I personally won’t be reading Midnight Sun until it come out in book form, simply because if I read some of it now, it seems like a waste of money to have to buy it later. And might have something to do with the fact that I’m weird, but that has nothing to do with this…

While I’m here and in a “ranting” sort of mood, let’s talk about the Half-Blood Prince delay. Surprisingly, I really don’t care. I do enjoy going to see the movies, but I sort of the books and movies differently and hold the book in a higher respect.

Our reasons for shifting ‘Half-Blood Prince’ to summer are twofold: we know the summer season is an ideal window for a family tent pole release, as proven by the success of our last Harry Potter film, which is the second-highest grossing film in the franchise, behind only the first installment. Additionally, like every other studio, we are still feeling the repercussions of the writers’ strike, which impacted the readiness of scripts for other films—changing the competitive landscape for 2009 and offering new windows of opportunity that we wanted to take advantage of. We agreed the best strategy was to move ‘Half-Blood Prince’ to July, where it perfectly fills the gap for a major tent pole release for mid-summer.

Okay , I don’t think this is a crap excuse. First of all, people are complaining they want to make more money. Well isn’t that obvious? They aren’t thinking about what’s best for the actual fans – they know we’re going to see it anyways – they’re think about themselves, about what’s best for business. That is the point of having a business/company/corporation/whatever, to make money.

People are saying they’re going to boycott it, well good for you, but that doesn’t mean everyone who doesn’t want to just suck or are playing into their hands. It’s our choices whether we see it or not. And honestly, I don’t think have the people claiming they’re going to boycott it would actually do it. And really, I don’t think they need to depend on hardcore Potter fan for ticket sales. There are huge amount of people who wants to get in on some of the “action” who would go see it, how’d you think there was a little girl behind me during the Order of the Phoenix movie and didn’t even know that Voldy was back?

All in all, I just want to say, just give it up with the petitions. It’s not going to work. Right now because of the announcement of it being pushed back, it’s getting a whole bunch of publicity, which would make more people want to go see it. I doubt WB would want to change their minds now because of that. And really, if they are going to change their mind, what’d you think they’d say? Just kidding? We weren’t really going to push it back. If they change their minds again, it’s going to look bad for the whole company. Making the general public think of them as untrustworthy and people who go back on their words.

The same goes for Midnight Sun, once you make a statement in writing (typing) you really can’t just change your mind. And look, the Harry/Giant Squid or Hermione/Harry petitions didn’t work on J.K. Rowling, and it’s her story. To quote Ben Schoen, “Give me a Butterbeer!”

She was like a diamond, dazzling and different. But there was something off. She looked hollow, like there is nothing inside.

The Bermuda Triangle was dangerous territory, he knew. It belonged to the Demons, they would kill whoever passed over it. They ripped and teared apart every single fool that ever did dare.

I finished reading about two days ago, I guess its time to get a review in order maybe? Hmm… I’m not the best at this.

I have to say; unlike several people I loved it. (Yes, I can just see everyone navigating away from this now.) By no means though, do I think it is the best written one. There are several moments when everything sort of fell out of character. For example during Bella’s pregnancy. I don’t know how you explain it, maybe it’s because I’ve never been pregnant myself that I don’t understand how she’s feeling. For me though, she turned soft way too soon. Just my opinion, again, never been pregnant myself. And Carlisle, I’ve always seen him as the father figure from a long time ago, for some reason the dialogue from him made him too modern. He sort of “fell out” of the father position at times.

It was pretty interesting how the whole book was organized, a smart move on Stephenie’s part. It would have been terrible to have to sit through a couple hundred pages of pregnant Bella. Plus, it was a clever way to show things happening outside of the Cullen house. I think without the switch to Jacob’s POV, we would never have seen Edward lose it. For once, it wasn’t a constant – and very biased – description of how perfect he was all the time during book 2. A nice change. (Don’t get me wrong I love Edward, but sometimes it’s nice to see a different side.

Book 3 we go back to Bella’s POV. Of course, we finally see her turned into vampire, then later on find out the power that everyone kept speculating on. So we find out her power is the “shield”, which everyone pretty much guessed. I know many people who have dismissed this theory because it was too “obvious”. It think much of the book could be seen as taking the “easy way out”. I was pretty excited for the huge battle scene at the end, but they just talked it out like the adults they were. We learned a lot from those two chapters of almost completely dialogue. That is what I mean by the easy way out; they just talked over a lot of the things.

Speaking of the battle scene we learn that the Werewolves were not true werewolves, or rather “Children of the Moon”, which are almost completely extinct because of Caius, they’re more like shape-shifters.

On a completely different note, I’ve also heard from several people who ever disappointed with the lack of sex scenes. I think, because Stephenie made it such a big deal, a lot of people were expecting it. It’s not surprising though, it is in the YA genre as opposed Erotic Romance.

The plot revolved around Bella’s pregnancy then later her child, Renesmee. I absolutely adored her. My favourite line in the novel:

Bella: “You nicknamed my child after the Loch Ness monster?”
I started cracking up at this.

In case you didn’t know (then you shouldn’t be reading this), her nickname is Nessie. She was just precious. I think because she had so little lines, she would one of the realest characters, for me at least. I jumped whenever she does speak because I forget that she could. Stephenie’s adaption of the so very cliché half vampire was pretty cool too.

I guess it could my favourite book of the saga, I’m not sure yet, I’ll have to read it a few times before I can say for sure. It was very unpredictable and overall, I really enjoyed it.

The jar was filled with paper stars made my her tiny fingers. It took her so long, she worked so hard on them. They were a present for her mother, she always appreciated what she made. Always.

His craft was wood working, he had done it for more than fifty years already. His hands were rough, but his pieces more intricate and beautiful than anything I’ve ever seen. He is my grandfather.

His symbol was so clearly embellished atop the sword that not a single person could claim it to be their own. It had been stolen many times of course, but it always cam back sooner rather than later because so many recognized it.

The top most point of the star was on a different side of the room as the rest. It had been smashed off, by that imprudent boy during a tantrum. It’s just left there now, no one bothering to fix it.

Her delicate face was blurry in his fading vision. His time was now, he knew. Of all the times he had cheated death, this was not one of those times. He reached out his hand to touch her face one last time, and took his final breath.

This first one gave me an idea for a possible future novel or story. On to the next…

Word: Spark

The spark that flew through the streets and into his house was blinding. He climbed carefully down the stairs unsure of what he’ll find. Taking a deep breath he walk into the living room.

This one inspired something too. The final one is terrible, but bare with me as I couldn’t think of anything else…

Word: Chorus

“The chorus was the best part of the song!” He threw his hand into the air.

“No way!” she disagreed.

“Yes,”he said.

“No.”

“Aurgh!” he gave up.

Horrible.

I will be attending a Breaking Dawn (the fourth book in the Twilight series) release party this Friday, I can’t wait. Then the following day, Saturday, my cousins will be coming to visit for two weeks. I have to rearrange my sleeping schedule again, however, to normal people time because my grandparents won’t approve and I have to share my bedroom, so not more unholy hours.

I also have to rest up so I could read Breaking Dawn nonstop and hopefully finish it within two days like I did Deathly Hallows. Doing so eliminates the possibility of being spoiled and making it safe once more for me to go on the internet since I already know everything that happens.
